Tesla sales show divergent trends across European markets
Tesla is experiencing highly inconsistent sales performance across European markets. Recent registration data reveals a stark contrast between different nations. In France, new vehicle registrations surged by 279 percent, and Denmark saw a 104 percent increase compared to August of the previous year. Analysts attribute these gains to growing interest in electric vehicles and more accessible pricing.
Conversely, other markets have seen significant declines. Registrations in Norway fell by 79 percent, and Spain also recorded a 79 percent drop. Other notable decreases occurred in Sweden (41 percent), Portugal (37 percent), and Italy (36 percent).
Regarding the sharp decline in Norway, analysts suggest the drop is partly due to an exceptionally high comparative base from the previous year, as consumers accelerated purchases ahead of tax policy changes. The company also faces intensifying competition from a growing supply of electric vehicles, particularly from Chinese manufacturers.
