Tesla strike in Sweden escalates as IF Metall calls new action

Swedish union IF Metall announced a new strike at Tesla’s facilities in Sweden, set to begin on 13 August and affect six work sites. The union urged its members to halt all work, intensifying an ongoing labour dispute.

Not all workers joined the call. A veteran mechanic named Fredrik in Stockholm said he would ignore the new strike order, citing a loss of trust in the union’s leadership. He briefly returned to work after the US‑based automaker welcomed him back and provided training, using his return to protest the union’s tactics. The disagreement highlights growing frustration among some Tesla employees over communication and representation by IF Metall.
