Tesla reopens Roadster reservations ahead of October unveiling

Tesla has reopened reservations for its next-generation Roadster, nearly nine years after the vehicle's initial prototype unveiling in 2017. To secure a spot, customers must pay a $5,000 refundable credit card deposit followed by a $45,000 wire transfer within 10 days, totaling a $50,000 commitment.

The company is scheduled to officially unveil the redesigned hypercar on October 1 at a SpaceX rocket testing facility in Waco, Texas. The event is expected to reveal final pricing, technical specifications, and production timelines. There are indications that the demonstration may include a limited-edition model equipped with cold-gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX, a technology capable of providing brief hovering or extreme acceleration.

While original performance targets included a 0–60 mph acceleration in 1.9 seconds and a range of approximately 620 miles, final production specs remain unconfirmed. International reservation options have also been noted, including specific deposit structures in Taiwan and New Zealand.
