Tesla unveils Cybercab with integrated Starlink satellite connectivity

Tesla has unveiled the first Cybercab featuring integrated Starlink satellite connectivity. Recent images shared by the company show a low-profile Starlink V5 antenna built directly into the vehicle's roofline, moving the design from concept to a physical, production-ready prototype.

Elon Musk stated that Starlink integration is intended to provide high-bandwidth connectivity for all future Tesla vehicles. For the Cybercab robotaxi, the satellite connection is designed to support navigation, fleet management, customer service, and real-time software updates. Crucially, Musk noted that Starlink will help prevent vehicles from losing connectivity in areas with poor cellular coverage, which he described as “Bermuda Triangles of lack of cellular connectivity.”

While the Starlink hardware is not required for the safe autonomous operation of the vehicle—which relies on onboard AI computing—it will enable passengers to access high-speed services such as 4K video streaming, gaming, and productivity tools. This integration highlights the deepening collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX, as the company seeks to ensure reliable data transmission for its expanding autonomous fleet.
