Tesla updates Cybertruck camera hardware and pricing

Tesla has implemented a hardware update to the Cybertruck’s side repeater cameras to improve vision clarity. According to lead engineer Wes Morrill, the new camera housings utilize passive geometry to create airflow disturbances that help keep water off the lens while driving. This change is described as a “pure vision improvement” that incurs no additional cost.

The update is part of ongoing hardware iterations at Giga Texas, where Tesla continues to refine the vehicle through out-of-cycle part swaps. These improvements, which also include changes to the aero shield and windshield thickness, are intended to enhance the performance of Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Supervised features by maintaining clearer feeds in rain or spray.

Separately, the pricing for the Cybertruck has seen adjustments. The Base All-Wheel-Drive configuration is now priced at $74,990, representing a $15,000 increase from its initial $59,990 starting price.
