Brazil's Tesouro Direto to Shut Down Mobile App on August 17

The Brazilian Treasury (Tesouro Nacional) announced that the official Tesouro Direto mobile application will be deactivated on 17 August 2026. After that date investors must access their public‑bond portfolios through the Portal do Investidor website or via the banking or brokerage apps where they hold their accounts. The Treasury said the change is part of a plan to build a new digital experience for users, although no launch date for the replacement platform has been set. All existing holdings, values and accrued returns will remain unchanged; investors do not need to take any action. The program currently serves about 3.69 million investors with a total of roughly R$ 262.5 billion in securities. The app has already been removed from Android and iOS stores, and the Treasury emphasized that the move will not affect the operation of the underlying Treasury bonds.
