TETFund inaugurates 13 projects at Bauchi health university
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has inaugurated 13 new projects at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUHSA) in Bauchi State. These facilities, which include laboratories, lecture theatres, student hostels, and research centres, are intended to bolster medical training and healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
TETFund Executive Secretary Sonny Echono noted that the projects align with federal efforts to expand medical training following the COVID-19 pandemic. Addressing the migration of medical professionals abroad, Echono suggested that increasing investment in training could turn human capital into a valuable export through remittances and knowledge transfer.
In a separate address at TETFund’s Second National Town Hall Meeting in Abuja, Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda called for continued support for tertiary institutions. Radda highlighted the importance of TETFund interventions in strengthening educational infrastructure and improving learning environments, specifically citing contributions to the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Funtua.
