Tether invests in EFY Finance to expand stablecoin payments in Latin America

Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has invested in EFY Finance, a financial technology firm focused on the Latin American market. The investment was made during EFY Finance’s seed funding round to expand institutional access to stablecoin payments across 17 countries.

The partnership aims to integrate USDT and USAT into everyday commercial activities, such as business payments, transfers, and settlements, moving beyond simple exchange trading. EFY Finance provides infrastructure that connects digital assets with traditional banking systems, allowing users to settle payments through local financial networks.

EFY Finance currently manages more than 25,000 active individual and business accounts, offering services including digital wallets, custody, payment cards, and conversion services across more than 12 currencies. While the investment supports the expansion of international payment infrastructure, the specific financial terms of the deal, including Tether’s investment amount and EFY’s valuation, were not disclosed.
