Teton County candidates debate housing and taxes at voter forum

Candidates for the Teton County Board of County Commissioners participated in a voter forum on September 30 at the Teton County Library. Six candidates are competing for three open seats on the board in the upcoming November election.

The forum addressed several local issues, including affordable housing, immigration enforcement, and property taxes. During the discussion, candidate Karyn Chin expressed interest in exploring varied housing projects, including smaller-scale options and collaborations with community organizations. Candidate Ali Dunford highlighted concerns regarding local housing availability, noting that the percentage of the workforce housed locally has declined from a previous goal of 65% to the current 57%.
