Tetovo BDI demands official health reports on water safety claims
The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) branch in Tetovo is demanding the immediate publication of full analyses from the Institute of Public Health (ISHP) regarding water safety in several settlements.
The demand follows an announcement by the public utility company, NPK ‘Sharri’, stating that drinking water is unsafe in Poroj, Xhepçisht, Reçicë e Madhe, and Reçicë e Vogël. BDI argues that the utility company has failed to provide official ISHP reports to substantiate these claims, noting that such serious health matters should not be addressed solely through social media posts.
BDI expressed concerns that the lack of transparent data, including microbiological parameters and sample locations, could be an attempt to pressure residents into joining the NPK ‘Sharri’ billing system. The party warned of potential legal action if it is determined that the water safety alarm was unfounded and used as a means of coercion.
