Tetovo implements minimal water price increase

The Tetovo Municipal Council has approved new water price regulations. According to Valon Zekiri, director of the public utility company Shari, the price will increase by approximately 2 denars over the next three years to protect citizen budgets.

While the Regulatory Commission proposed an average price of 24 denars, the company’s board opted to apply the minimum tariff of approximately 22 denars. This decision results in a monthly increase of about 40 denars for local households. Zekiri noted that Tetovo maintains one of the lowest water rates in the country, comparing it to Ohrid, where the price is 70 denars per cubic meter.

Currently, Tetovo is supplied with approximately 320 liters of water per second, which is considered sufficient for the current season. Upcoming rainfall is expected to further support the regular supply of drinking water.
