Tetovo Municipality initiates collection of 6 million euros in unpaid taxes

The Municipality of Tetovo has launched an action to collect outstanding debts from property taxes and other municipal fees. The unpaid amount for the last two years exceeds 6 million euros (approximately 340 million denars).

Nuredin Dehari, the Head of Finance for Tetovo Municipality, stated that the majority of the debt is owed by individual citizens for property taxes, while the remainder is owed by private companies for various firm taxes and property duties. If these obligations are not settled within a week, the municipality will initiate enforcement and seizure procedures to collect funds and unblock municipal accounts.

Additionally, residents owe over one million euros to the Municipal Public Enterprise ‘Sharri’ for the past two years. Valon Zeqiri, Director of NPK ‘Sharri’, noted that while the enterprise is currently financially stable and has overcome previous wage issues, the collected funds are intended for significant investments in underground infrastructure.
