Teufel and Sony offer 5.1 surround sound systems

Several 5.1 surround sound systems are currently available at competitive price points for home cinema enthusiasts.

The Teufel Consono 35 MK3 is positioned as an affordable upgrade for users seeking better spatial audio than standard TV speakers. The setup includes a center box, four surround speakers, and a subwoofer with a 200-mm driver. It features a T8 concept that allows for downfire or frontfire configurations depending on the room layout. A compatible AV receiver is required for operation.

Alternatively, the Sony HT-S20R offers a 5.1-channel experience through a 3-channel soundbar, an external subwoofer, and two rear speakers. Delivering 400 watts of total power and supporting Dolby Digital, the system includes various sound modes such as Cinema, Music, and a dedicated Voice mode for clearer dialogue. Connectivity options include HDMI ARC, optical, analog, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB. The system requires wired connections for the subwoofer and rear speakers.
