Teungueth FC targets consecutive Senegalese football titles

Teungueth FC, the 16-year-old club from Rufisque, is aiming for an unprecedented back-to-back championship in the Senegalese Ligue Pro. After securing their third title in 2026—winning on goal difference over AJEL—the club is working to overcome the historical trend of defending champions struggling to maintain consistency.

To bolster their squad, the club has completed significant recruitment, adding approximately ten new players. Key arrivals include goalkeeper Gorgui Diop and midfielder Souleymane Dieng from AJEL, wingers Albert Bougazelli and Ibou Aïdara from Wally Daan FC, defender Mbaye Ndiaye from Jaraaf, and Patrick Basse from Guédiawaye FC.

The team enters the new season relying on a historically strong defense. Last season, Papa Abdoulaye Dieng recorded 25 clean sheets in 29 matches, contributing to a defense that conceded only six goals throughout the campaign. Despite the departure of Maguette Diop to Bourges FcC in France, the squad retains quality players such as Raphaël Ndong, Ebrima Seckan, Mame Birame Diaw, and Ben Habib.
