Teupin Mane Bridge opens for functional traffic in Bireuen

The Teupin Mane steel truss bridge on the Bireuen–Takengon national road has officially opened for functional use. Located at kilometer 11 over the Peusangan River, the bridge connects the villages of Beunyot and Teupin Mane.

As part of the functional opening, traffic is currently restricted to two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. Heavy trucks are prohibited from crossing until load testing is completed to ensure structural safety. The project, managed by PT Pembangunan (Persero) Tbk and local partner PT Krueng Meuh, is part of the Aceh rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts following hydrometeorological disasters in Sumatra.

The construction, overseen by the Ministry of Public Works through the Aceh National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN Aceh), began in late January 2026. While functional operations commenced in October 2026, full project completion is targeted for December 2026.
