Teva Canada recalls Novo-Gesic Forte acetaminophen tablets

Teva Canada Limited has issued a recall for one lot of Novo-Gesic Forte 500 mg acetaminophen tablets due to the potential presence of phenolic resin or epoxy. Health Canada has warned that ingesting these substances may cause injury to the digestive system.

The affected product lot number is 100083040, with an expiry date of January 31, 2029. While the medication was supplied to pharmacies in 1,000-count bottles, it may have been dispensed to patients in smaller quantities.

As of the announcement, there have been no reports of adverse effects resulting from the use of this product. Health Canada is monitoring the recall and the company’s corrective actions. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected product immediately and return it to the pharmacy of purchase for replacement and proper disposal. Individuals with health concerns following use should consult a healthcare provider.
