Tevere Day 2026 to celebrate Rome's Tiber River
The eighth edition of Tevere Day is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 11, 2026, in Rome. The event aims to celebrate and protect the Tiber River through a series of activities spanning over 80 kilometers, from Nazzano and Farfa to Ostia and Fiumicino.
Organized by a network of more than 200 associations, organizations, and companies, the program includes over 130 events covering sports, environment, culture, archaeology, and boating. A significant new initiative is the proposal to establish the ‘Giornata del Tevere’ (Tiber Day) as an official annual event. The first such celebration is planned for Saturday, October 10, featuring a symbolic tribute where thousands of flowers will be cast into the river from six pedestrian bridges.
Other scheduled activities include the ‘Parchi di Sport, Urban Games’ between Ponte Milvio and Foro Italico, and the ‘Vogalonga Tiberina’ regatta on October 10, which expects approximately 100 boats to travel from Ponte Marconi to the Idroscalo di Ostia.
