Texaco Support for Sport launches €130,000 funding initiative

The sixth Texaco Support for Sport funding initiative has been launched, offering a total of €130,000 to sports clubs across Ireland. Hosted by Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited, the fund will be distributed to 26 clubs on a county-by-county basis, with each successful applicant receiving €5,000.

The initiative is open to all sports clubs regardless of their discipline, size, membership, age, or gender. To date, the program has distributed more than €600,000 to over 125 clubs throughout the country, covering a wide range of activities including GAA, soccer, rugby, gymnastics, and rowing.

Donncha O’Callaghan, a former Irish rugby international, is leading the adjudication process. James Twohig, Director of Ireland Operations for Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited, noted that the initiative aims to support the social and physical benefits that sports clubs provide to Irish communities.
