Texas 2026 elections: Key dates and District 65 rematch

Texas voters are preparing for the general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Key dates for the election cycle include the voter registration deadline on October 5, the start of in-person early voting on October 19, and the deadline to apply for a ballot by mail on October 23.

In Texas House District 65, Republican incumbent Mitch Little is running for a second term against Democrat Detrick DeBurr. This race follows their previous matchup in November 2024, which Little won with over 60% of the vote. Little’s platform focuses on reducing government growth and addressing property taxes, while DeBurr is campaigning on issues such as Lewisville ISD funding, livable local wages, and property tax transparency.
