Texas AG launches investigation of StubHub over undelivered World Cup tickets

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a consumer‑protection investigation into ticket‑resale platform StubHub after dozens of Texans filed complaints that tickets purchased for the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches in Dallas and Houston were never delivered. StubHub’s “FanProtect Guarantee” promised replacement tickets or full refunds, but many buyers said the guarantee was not honoured.

StubHub attributed the delivery failures to glitches in FIFA’s digital ticketing infrastructure, a claim the global soccer governing body has denied. The investigation follows a proposed class‑action lawsuit filed by affected fans, and the AG’s office has urged other Texas residents who bought World Cup tickets through StubHub to submit complaints to the Consumer Protection Division.
