Texas A&M defeats Missouri State 50-0 in season opener

No. 8 Texas A&M opened its 2026 football season with a dominant 50-0 shutout victory over Missouri State at Kyle Field. The Aggies' defense was particularly effective, holding the Bears to just 67 total yards of offense and limiting them to four first downs throughout the game.

Quarterback Marcel Reed led the offense, completing 21 of 30 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown was a 15-yard pass to transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton on the opening drive. Other scoring contributors included Mario Craver, who caught a 12-yard touchdown, and rushing scores from Terry Bussey and Jamarion Morrow.

Despite the lopsided score, the Aggies faced some offensive line challenges, including two sacks on Reed and several penalties. The team now prepares for Week Two, where they are favored by 15.5 points to host the Arizona State Sun Devils.
