Texas A&M receiver Terry Bussey injured on opening kickoff

Texas A&M receiver and return specialist Terry Bussey was carted off the field during the opening kickoff of a game against Kentucky at Kyle Field on September 19. Bussey appeared to suffer an injury to his right leg after landing awkwardly while attempting to avoid a defender.

While an initial ruling suggested a fumble, officials overturned the call following an instant replay review, allowing Texas A&M to retain possession. The severity of the injury remains unclear, though broadcasts indicated Bussey was unlikely to return to the game.

Bussey is a key component of the Aggies' offense and special teams, serving as a primary kick and punt returner. His injury comes at a difficult time for the team, which is already managing several absences in the wide receiver corps, including Ashton Bethel-Roman and freshman Madden Williams.
