Walter Camp Player of the Year preseason watch list announced

The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced the preseason watch list for the 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. Several prominent college football programs have multiple players recognized.

The University of Texas leads the nation with four selections: linebacker Rasheem Biles, wide receiver Cam Coleman, quarterback Arch Manning, and edge rusher Colin Simmons. Biles, a transfer from Pitt, was also named a preseason First-Team All-America selection.

Other notable inclusions feature Ohio State players Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith. Texas A&M is represented by wide receiver Mario Craver and quarterback Marcel Reed, while Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has also been named to the list.

The Walter Camp Player of the Year Award is one of the oldest individual accolades in college football, determined by a vote of 136 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
