Texas Association of Builders Honored with Hall of Fame Induction and Three National Awards

The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) announced that industry veterans Donald Ray “DR” Horton, founder of D.R. Horton, and Kathryn Ann “Toy” Wood, longtime CEO of the Greater Houston Builders Association, will be inducted into the 2026 Texas Housing Hall of Honor. The ceremony is scheduled for November 11 at the Dallas Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center.

TAB also received three Association Excellence Awards from the National Association of Home Builders' Executive Officers Council. The awards recognize the association’s best community‑service project for flood‑relief efforts after the July 4, 2025 Hill Country floods, its publication “Texas Association of Builders 89th Legislative Session Recap,” and its workforce‑development plan that helped launch Proposition 1, creating an $850 million endowment for Texas State Technical College. TAB CEO Scott Norman praised members and volunteers for their role in these achievements.
