According to the 2026 Forbes 400 list, the collective wealth of America's richest billionaires has reached $8 trillion, marking a $1.4 trillion increase from the previous year. Texas remains a significant hub for wealth, with 43 billionaires residing in the state and 19 located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ben Lamm, co-founder of the de-extinction company Colossal Biosciences, has debuted as one of the nation's wealthiest residents with an estimated net worth of $5.7 billion. His company, which aims to resurrect extinct species such as the woolly mammoth, is valued at over $10 billion. Lamm also recently spun off Astromech, an AI-driven evolutionary forecasting company valued at $3.8 billion.

In Fort Worth, Alice Walton remains the wealthiest woman in America and the third-wealthiest person in Texas. Her net worth has grown by $12 billion over the past year, totaling $118 billion.
