Texas community festivals scheduled for September and October

Several community festivals are scheduled to take place in Texas. The Hawkins Oil Festival will be held on September 26 at the Hawkins City Park pavilion. The event features a parade, live entertainment, local vendors, and a llama petting zoo. It includes participation from military veteran organizations, army recruiters, and local pageant queens. The festival also hosts a pancake breakfast and collections for food and toy drives.

In Katy, the Lonestar Safety Fest marks its 10th anniversary on October 3 at Typhoon Texas. This volunteer-led event focuses on public safety, allowing attendees to interact with first responders and view various law enforcement and emergency vehicles. Activities include hands-on safety demonstrations and the Firefighter Combat Challenge, a competition testing the strength and endurance of firefighters in full gear.
