Texas driver sentenced to 7 years for fatal drunken crash
Lynlee Pollis, 30, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a 2023 drunken crash in Dallas that killed 19-year-old Southern Methodist University student Honor Wallace and seriously injured Catherine “CeCe” Solberg.
Pollis was convicted of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. Following her prison term, she must serve 10 years of probation. Under a unique order from State District Judge Jennifer Balido, Pollis is required to report to jail for 15 days every year during her probation. These mandatory jail days must include Christmas, the anniversary of the crash, Pollis’ own birthday, and the three-day periods surrounding the birthdays of both Wallace and Solberg.
The crash occurred in September 2023 when Pollis ran a red light while driving 67 mph in a 35 mph zone. Post-crash testing revealed Pollis had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.294, nearly four times the legal limit. During the trial, victims' families expressed frustration over a perceived lack of accountability from the defendant.
