Texas election officials are struggling to process a massive backlog of voter registration records following a software error with the Texas Department of Public Safety web portal. The error has resulted in hundreds of thousands of registration records and updates needing manual processing by local officials.

Local administrators report that the state’s voter registration and management system, known as TEAM, is complicating efforts to clear the backlog.
