Texas flight attendant's remains identified via DNA

DNA testing has confirmed that the body discovered in a Texas creek is Rana Nofal Soluri, a 47-year-old flight attendant for an Envoy Air regional carrier. Her remains were found by a fisherman in June on the bank of Brushy Creek in Montague County, approximately 70 miles northwest of Fort Worth, more than a year after she was reported missing.

Dennis William Day, 67, has been arrested and charged with murder. According to police, Day allegedly admitted to strangling Soluri with his bare hands during a dispute at their shared home in Fort Worth. He is accused of subsequently disposing of her body. Another individual, Joni Thomas, has been charged with tampering with evidence with intent to impair a human corpse for allegedly assisting in the disposal of the body.

Soluri was last seen in March 2025. Following the identification of her remains, American Airlines assisted in transporting her body to Seattle for a Muslim burial. Her daughter is expected to provide a statement during an upcoming court appearance in October.
