Texas gas prices decrease to $3.94 average per gallon

Texas gas prices saw a slight decrease this week, with the statewide average for regular unleaded falling to $3.94 per gallon, a 2-cent drop from the previous week. According to AAA Texas, McAllen remains the city with the lowest prices at $3.74 per gallon, while El Paso maintains the highest at $3.34 per gallon.

Despite the weekly dip, September was a record-breaking month for fuel costs in Texas, reaching the highest September average on record. Regional variations were noted, with cities like Abilene seeing an 8-cent decrease, while Midland and Odessa experienced increases of 15 cents and 13 cents, respectively.

On a broader scale, Brent crude is trading at $100.90 and WTI crude at $91.75. Market analysts suggest that geopolitical tensions, including the rejection of a proposal regarding the Strait of Hormuz, continue to influence oil market concerns.
