Texas gas prices rise to $3.93 average amid high crude costs
Gasoline prices in Texas are experiencing an unusual upward trend during the fall season, a period when prices typically decline. The average price for unleaded fuel in the state has risen to $3.93 per gallon, marking a 10-cent increase from the previous week.
Regional variations show El Paso with the highest average at $4.41 per gallon, while Houston reports the lowest at $3.83. Significant weekly increases were noted in San Angelo, which rose by 21 cents to reach $4.15 per gallon.
According to AAA Texas spokesperson Daniel Armbruster, the rise is driven by persistently high crude oil prices. Brent crude is priced at $104.70 per barrel, and WTI crude is at $101.80. Geopolitical tensions are also cited as a factor contributing to the rise in gasoline and diesel costs across the country.
