A fire broke out on the night of August 5, 2026, at the Texas Gulf Seafood distribution warehouse located near 7th Street and Wharf Road in Galveston, Texas. The Galveston Fire Department and multiple neighboring agencies responded around 8:40 p.m., rescuing three people and a dog and transporting two individuals to a hospital. The blaze was contained by early Thursday morning, though smoke lingered and crews continued to monitor the site.
The warehouse supplied seafood to restaurants, supermarkets and the H‑E‑B chain. Authorities have not confirmed any supply interruptions, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. City spokesperson Marissa Barnett advised the public to avoid the immediate area while the fire was being controlled.
