Texas Headhunters release new single ‘Bigshot’

The musical trio Texas Headhunters has released ‘Bigshot,’ the latest single from their upcoming album, Rise & Shine. The album is scheduled for release on October 9 via Hardcharger and Blue Élan Records.

Written by Ian Moore, the track features a Bo Diddley-inspired groove combined with fuzz-heavy guitars, drawing on blues, rock, country, and Americana influences. Moore noted that the song’s concept was inspired by an overpass sign reading ‘Big Shot Cyrus James,’ which led him to envision a character resembling a New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian.

The group, consisting of Moore, Johnny Moeller, and Jesse Dayton, emphasizes a collaborative songwriting process built on mutual musical trust. Each member has over three decades of experience in their respective genres, and the trio aims to showcase their individual playing styles through a competitive and interactive chemistry.
