Texas Instruments unveils new ADC for AI data center power monitoring
Texas Instruments has introduced a 3-gigasample-per-second (GSPS) analog-to-digital converter (ADC), the ADC34DSO75, designed for remote monitoring of power-rail transients in AI data centers. Announced at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit, the device enables nanosecond-resolution telemetry to capture brief electrical disturbances that standard monitoring systems often miss.
In addition to the ADC, Texas Instruments demonstrated two other components for AI data center infrastructure. The LMI800PS is an isolated hot-swap controller for high-voltage power distribution that reduces board area by over 60% compared to discrete implementations. It provides 5-kVrms reinforced isolation and supports both ±400V and 800V architectures. The company also showcased the LMK6B bulk acoustic wave (BAW) oscillator, which provides precision timing for high-speed networking systems with increasing transmission rate demands.
