Texas Longhorns fall to Oklahoma in Red River Rivalry
The Texas Longhorns suffered a 27-24 defeat against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry at Cotton Bowl Stadium. Despite holding a 17-7 halftime lead, Texas struggled with offensive consistency, particularly during a difficult third quarter where they managed only 41 yards on their first three possessions.
Quarterback Arch Manning committed a critical interception in the third quarter that was returned for a touchdown by Oklahoma's Peyton Bowen. While Manning later led a 75-yard touchdown drive, a subsequent interception allowed Oklahoma to set up a game-winning field goal. Head coach Steve Sarkisian noted that the team is working to fix issues regarding offensive inconsistency and an inability to sustain drives, highlighting that the team suffered eight three-and-out sequences during the game.
