Texas Longhorns move to 4-0 after victory over Tennessee
The Texas Longhorns improved to a 4-0 record following a 20-17 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville. During the SEC road game, several freshmen players contributed to the win, including wide receiver Jermaine Bishop, who recorded two receptions for 34 yards, and running back Derrek Cooper, who saw action in the backfield.
Heading into their bye week, Texas remains highly ranked as they prepare for the upcoming Red River Rivalry against the Oklahoma Sooners. Analysts suggest the Longhorns may hold a defensive advantage this year compared to their previous matchup. The Texas defense, led by coordinator Will Muschamp, currently ranks among the best in the SEC, allowing the fifth-fewest rushing yards and third-fewest passing yards per game.
