Texas Panhandle gas prices rise to $3.57 average
Gasoline prices in the Texas Panhandle have risen significantly, with the average price in the Amarillo area climbing 13.4 cents in one week to reach $3.57 per gallon. Local prices show a wide variance, ranging from a low of $3.35 to a high of $4.09 per gallon, creating a 74-cent spread between stations.
Nationally, the average gasoline price increased by 7.7 cents to $4.02 per gallon, while diesel rose 14.3 cents to approximately $5.42. Analysts attribute the upward pressure on the market to rebounding oil prices, influenced by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries.
