Los Angeles Angels defeat Texas Rangers 3-0 behind Ryan Johnson's dominant pitching

The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 3-0 in a game highlighted by a dominant performance from rookie pitcher Ryan Johnson. Johnson carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, finishing with seven innings, three strikeouts, and only one hit allowed. He earned his first win since July 19. Rookie Ryan Watson secured his second save following relief work from Michael Fulmer.

The victory marks the Angels' 11th shutout of the season. On the Rangers' side, Jake Burger left the game in the third inning due to a left wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch; however, X-rays were negative. The Rangers have been shut out twice in their last four games.

The series concludes with a rubber match featuring Cal Quantrill scheduled to start for Texas. The Angels are expected to activate Yusei Kikuchi from the 60-day injured list to bolster their rotation following his recovery from left shoulder inflammation.
