Texas Rangers players Jack Leiter and Danny Jansen begin rehab assignments

Two Texas Rangers players have begun rehabilitation assignments with the Triple-A Round Rock Express following recent injuries.

Pitcher Jack Leiter completed his first competitive outing since undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle in June. Leiter pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three. Notably, his four-seam fastball reached 98.4 mph, averaging 96.9 mph, which is slightly higher than his major league average this season. This performance suggests his velocity and mechanics have recovered following the procedure to remove a loose body from his ankle.

Catcher Danny Jansen also began his return to play after recovering from a strained right forearm. Jansen played five innings behind the plate and went 1-for-2 at the plate. While the Rangers have not established a specific timetable for his return to the major league roster, Jansen is currently on the 60-day injured list. His activation will require a corresponding move on the 40-man roster.
