Texas Rangers recall Logan O’Hoppe, DFA Jarred Kelenic

The Texas Rangers have recalled catcher Logan O’Hoppe from Triple-A Round Rock to the active roster. O’Hoppe, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels prior to the trade deadline, is set to make his debut for the Rangers.

To facilitate this move, the Rangers have designated outfielder Jarred Kelenic for assignment. Kelenic, who hit .200 in 17 games with the club this season, now faces being traded, released, or outrighted to the minor leagues within a seven-day window.

Since joining the Rangers organization, O’Hoppe has performed well at the Triple-A level, posting a .292/.386/.556 slash line over 18 games with Round Rock.
