Texas Roadhouse sales surge as new stores boost growth
Texas Roadhouse reported strong early performance from its newly opened restaurants in the second quarter of 2026. Locations open for less than six months generated average weekly sales of $180,822, a 10.4% increase from a year earlier, while overall comparable restaurant sales rose 6.2% and total quarterly revenue climbed 11.1% to about $1.68 billion. The chain expanded its system to 832 restaurants, including 62 overseas sites, and added five company‑operated Texas Roadhouse locations during the quarter.
The company attributes its success to a local‑focused strategy. CEO Jerry Morgan said Texas Roadhouse has never spent money on national TV advertising and relies on grassroots store marketing, community engagement and recent technology upgrades such as table‑side payment and a digital kitchen system. The chain introduced its first purpose statement in May 2024, emphasizing service to communities across America and the world, and continues to grow without a national advertising blitz.
