Texas school ratings put Austin ISD at risk of state takeover
Texas has released its latest A-through-F accountability ratings for public schools. While most districts showed stability or improvement, Austin Independent School District faces potential state intervention. Two Austin middle schools have received failing grades for five consecutive years, placing the district at risk of a state takeover.
In other Texas legal news, the Texas State Securities Board is pursuing a fraud enforcement case against TEXITcoin, a digital currency that marketed itself as a Texas-made alternative to traditional money. Additionally, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing Roblox, alleging the platform failed to protect children from predators and explicit content; the Attorney General’s office claims the company is currently withholding requested information.
