Texas Southern soccer players earn SWAC weekly honors

Three Texas Southern University players have received weekly honors from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) following the opening week of women's soccer action.

Juliette Gomez was named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman helped the team secure a shutout against UTRGV and limited Houston Christian to a single goal.

Alessandra Bastidas earned the Goalkeeper of the Week distinction. The senior recorded a shutout win against UTRGV, making four saves and maintaining a 1.000 save percentage.

Jiselle Caffey was recognized as the Newcomer of the Week. The freshman recorded a goal and the game-winning goal during the matchup against UTRGV.
