Texas State soccer upsets No. 6 Baylor 3-1

Texas State soccer secured a 3-1 victory over No. 6 Baylor at Betty Lou Mays Field, marking the Bobcats' first-ever win against a top-10 opponent. The win brings Texas State's record to 3-0-1, while Baylor falls to 2-1.

The match began with rapid scoring; Matsuri Tsutsui opened the scoring for Texas State in the second minute, but Baylor responded just 10 seconds later when Lauren Omholt equalized off an assist from Olivia Hess.

Texas State took control in the second half. Helen Alormenu scored in the 56th minute following a sequence involving Jenny Ngankem and Ava Kooker. Alormenu then extended the lead in the 72nd minute with a long-range shot from near midfield. Texas State goalkeeper Caitlyn Draper recorded several key saves late in the game to maintain the lead.
