Texas-style BBQ spots open across the UK
London’s barbecue scene has surged in recent years, adding a wave of authentic Texas‑style venues. Newer establishments such as Cue Point, Hon’s BBQ, Billy’s Smokehouse, Bodean’s, From The Ashes and Texas Joe’s blend smoked meats with diverse flavours, offering halal, vegan and gluten‑free options.
In Scotland, pitmaster Amin Sheikh has launched Fire & Smoke’s permanent yard in Hamilton, billed as the country’s largest smokehouse. Opening on 15 August, the venue features a 16‑hour oak‑smoked brisket, beef ribs, buttery smoked turkey and a 6‑metre offset smoker nicknamed “Eleanor”. The menu also includes halal meats and specialty trays priced at £75.
Both openings reflect a growing appetite for low‑and‑slow Texas barbecue across the United Kingdom.
