Texas Tech commits 6-foot-10 Malian center Bassala Bagayoko
Texas Tech has secured a commitment from Bassala Bagayoko, a 6-foot-10 center from Mali, to join the Red Raiders' roster. Bagayoko, 19, brings professional experience from Spain, where he previously made history as the youngest player to compete in the Liga ACB at age 14.
Bagayoko recently participated in the NBA Draft process. During his time playing in Spain, including stints with Bilbao and Fuenlabrada, he overcame a significant ACL and meniscus injury that sidelined him for over two years. His recent performances in the ACB and FIBA Europe Cup saw him averaging approximately 4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
This marks the eighth addition to the Texas Tech offseason roster under head coach Grant McCasland and serves as the program's first international commitment of the cycle.
