Texas Tech players named to major college football watch lists

Several Texas Tech football players have been named to prestigious preseason watch lists for the 2026 college football season.

J’Koby Williams and Kenny Johnson were included on the Paul Hornung Award watch list, which recognizes the most versatile player in major college football. Williams, a returning finalist from the 2025 list, recorded 1,525 all-purpose yards last season. Johnson, a transfer from Pittsburgh, is recognized for his contributions as both a receiver and a special teams player.

Additionally, running back Cameron Dickey has been named to the Walter Camp Award watch list. The award is presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding player. Dickey enters his junior season following a campaign in which he rushed for 1,124 yards.
