Texas tourism rises as direct flights from Taiwan increase
Tourism demand between Taiwan and Texas is rising significantly, driven by increased flight connectivity and the relocation of major tech companies like Tesla and SpaceX to the state. EVA Air currently operates a daily flight between Taipei and Houston with approximately 90% occupancy. Starting in October 2025, the airline will launch a Taipei-Dallas/Fort Worth route, which is expected to increase to daily service by January 2026, providing a total of 14 direct weekly flights.
Travel Texas has highlighted seven key themes for visitors to the Lone Star State: cowboy culture in Fort Worth, space exploration at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, the historic Route 66 (celebrating its centennial in 2026), authentic Texas BBQ, the live music scene in Austin, natural landscapes in Big Bend and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks, and the wine regions of the Hill Country.
