No. 2 Texas Volleyball secured its first win of the 2026 season by defeating Marquette 3-2 at the AVCA First Serve tournament held at Fiserv Forum. The match was a five-set battle with scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 23-25, and 15-8.

Torrey Stafford led the Longhorns with 19 kills and 12 digs, while Cari Spears contributed 17 kills and four service aces. Nya Bunton recorded a match-high seven blocks. After a slow start in the first two sets, Texas improved its offensive hitting percentage significantly, reaching .529 in the deciding fifth set.

The victory allowed Texas to recover from an opening season loss to Arizona State. Head coach Jerritt Elliott noted the match provided an opportunity for the team to find its rhythm after struggling with consistency in their previous outing.
