Texel Air expands New Zealand fleet with Boeing freighter
Texel Air has added a second Boeing 737-800BCF to its New Zealand fleet, marking a milestone as the 200th Boeing Converted Freighter delivered to the airline. The aircraft, named Florence and registered as ZK-TXH, will initially operate charter services to provide flexibility for domestic and international freight connections.
The addition follows the arrival of another 737-800BCF, Karen, in August. Together, these aircraft represent a NZ$95 million capital investment, increasing Texel Air’s New Zealand-based fleet to three aircraft and its total Australasian fleet to seven.
Texel Air Founder and Chairman John Chisholm stated that the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to New Zealand, noting that the investment aims to create jobs and support local businesses. The expansion is expected to increase the company’s Australasian workforce to more than 165 employees.
